Well, Physics Olympiad Theory Paper section has come and gone. I was about as good as someone who could not read English, or it was in a totally different language to me. I was totally clueless for most of the questions, and all I could do for more than half of them was to simply scribble down some funny-looking equations I had memorized beforehand without even knowing if these equations were of any relevance to the question at all (I hope that got me some marks). Still, I did answer in full three out of the ten questions (with very little certainty as to the accuracy of my answers), and some parts of other questions here and there.
The paper was four hours long, and the ever-so-persevering spirit within me died before the second hour was spent. I could not endure the embarrassment any longer. Feeling utterly disgusted with myself, I decided to hand in the paper early and leave the room, the room that had no place for amateur wannabes like me.
At least now I know that I have no place among the nation's elite young physicists.
